diet is a bad word at times - proper nutrition is key eat protein and carbs but the right ones fruits and vegs go according to the servings on the side of the cereal box u need 1 protein ( size of ur palm) and 2 carbs ideally but it is the portion control and proper times to eat grazing thru out the day like fueling a car is better than one large meal at once.. all kinds of fad diets don't work proper eating is key u can find out flex magazine has a good nutrition guide u need muscle not fat and all amino acids and enzymes utilize the body's food properly without enzymes u wont break down foods proper.. watch for excess sugar soda fattening foods u don't need like sour cream or margarine is bad it is bad oils for u flours reined foods processed foods bad. go for real - chicken breasts tuna salmon for protein or beans if ur a vegetarian and no breads.. pizza one slice once in a awhile pasta is high so limit that .. sweet potato instead of regular potato

It depends on the diet that you are on. Low Fat? Watch calories and fat grams. Low Carb? You want to watch the carbs, but you also was to watch the fiber. If a box says it has 12 grams of carbs but it has 7 grams of fiber, you need to subtract that from the carbs, and you really have 5 carbs. That means it is not bad for you, and it is something that you can eat. Most items that you are searching for to have low carbs, are normally low in fat too. If you are just looking for something that is good for you, it depends on the food. Your body handles natural foods better, so fruits and veggies and whole grain is the way to go. Don't use I can't believe it's not butter, over regular butter, because in truth the regular butter is better for you, because it is more natural. It doesn't have the preservatives. Remember that portion size is more important than you know! Something that was only 190 calories, and only 6 carbs, if you eat 3 times the amount recommended, you just had 570 calories and 18 carbs. That can make a big difference.

I would like to know that too I guess. Im pretty much a novice when it comes to dieting.
I eat Weight Watchers meals everyday. They have the fat, calories, and carbs printed on the front. I have issues with portion control, so me eating those really helps. When I finish the meal, thats it, I dont have to finish 'everything on my plate'. If you are looking to diet, that really works for me. I seem to be losing weight daily. And drink tons and tons of water. Dont care for water..me neither. I use those To Go Crystal Light packets. Zero everything. No carbs and no sugar. It does have five calories, but you burn that really easily. Good luck

sodium content in high amounts will make you retain water.....fat grams....calories.....carbohydrates are a big one to avoid! also look at calories from fat, if that number is half or more of calories total, is not good for you. The daily value percentages next to what is listed on nutrition facts is also a big one to look at. for instance, i have a can of beef ravioli in front of me, which is not something to eat on a diet or overall health. Daily value of fat is 11%, saturated fat is 18%, sodium is a whopping 43% and carbs are 12 %.
every packaged food is based on a 2,000 calorie diet, so these numbers would be way higher in percentage if you on say a 1,300 calorie diet.

The nutritional value labels show how much sugar, calories, fats and carbohydrates a product contains. It depends on what you want to control in your diet.

you should look to make sure the food is low in calories, fat and sugar. Also, foods with a lot of fiber in them are very good for you
