Considering that its fact that very short men have much harder lives than the general population (make less money, date much much less - if at all, or remain an involuntary virgin for life)) - would any of you ladies abort your fetus if you knew that (he) was only going to grow up to 5'3". State your answer and a rational reason.

I meant if you hypothetically knew that IT WAS going to be a guy.

If I was a girl I would abort him because personally, as a short guy at 21, life sucks!!!! - no girlfriend ever, just everyday is constant suffering in my computer room hoping for a quick death.

That is the stupidest question I've seen on here in a long time. Aborting is bad in the first place, but then just because he's SHORT??? Come on, you are saying that short men get paid less than tall men? And that they date much less??? If a woman wouldn't date a man because of his height, she's really shallow and is not worth dating in the first place. I know this question is for ladies, but this question is so outrageous that I have to answer it. God gave life to everything on this earth, and you are not authorized to take it away.

So I'm assuming that you are short, broke can't get the poon and are the next 5'3 40 yr old virgin. Well sorry but it's a narrow minded question to think that men that are short are going to have some kind of debilitating life. My husband is only 5'5 and he has no quams about his height...and I'm 5'6. He has had his fair share of gf's in the past, he makes a lot of money and believe me he's getting laid. To make that kind of generalization is pretty dumb. So to answer your question no I wouldn't abort a fetus if hypothetically it was going to be short....

No. If you don't have a girlfriend sugar, it isn't cause you're short. Stop playing that card. That'll get old to all those around you.
I know several fellows under 5'5"...they are either married or dating happily. Two of them I dated myself! I'm 5'7". One is married to my cousin and they are both only 5'2". Cute little couple and lots of friends and have a great life. My other cousin is 5'7" and married to a little guy. He's 5'4" or 5'5" - runs a farm, has two kids (boy that's gonna be the same size) and a very happy marriage.
"Short Man Syndrome" is unappealing. Get over it. Maybe you need anti-depressants. Or maybe a better diet...jogging wouldn't hurt either. Go out with some friends...or does no one like you cause you're short? Good heavens.

Five-foot-three is taller than me and I'm a female, so a male that height would be taller than me.
Look at Michael J. Fox (very successful actor -- I'm a long time fan) Seth Green (funny guy - not short on acting jobs) Danny Devito (another very funny and talented guy whose wife is also quite petite) all horse-racing jockeys. Henry Gibson is 5'4" and as old as he is, still gets acting jobs. Look at historical figures, as well, some notorious like Napoleon (definitely not a virgin) -- the list could go on and on. I think lack of height in a male would be a terrible reason to consider abortion. Looks to me like a person could learn to use lack of height to a distinct advantage with supportive friends and family.

Well NOOO...
First 5'3 isn't really a short height for a girl im 5'4 and just happy with it and my fiance is 5'5 were a perfect match. We almost see eye to eye on everything lol.
But honestly what kind of mom would have an abortion because of their kid was only going to be 5'3. That is a horrible and rather scary idea to know someone is considering that.
And how do you know she/he is only going to be that tall?
Plus docter's aren't always right!

That's a typical "short man" statement. Having harder lives. Try being exceptionally tall. It's impossible to find clothing that fits, including shoes, nothing is made to accommodate us. The code for a door frame is 6'7", which means I have to duck in every, single, door. There is the danger of hanging lights, ceiling fans, decoration, etc. The constant nagging of "do you play basketball" and other nonsensical crap that people don't think about. So, just because someone is different, doesn't mean that they have it harder or better than everyone else.

I think that only a shallow minded person would abort a fetus just because he would grow up to be short. If you raise your child the right way, and help him to develop a wonderful, shining personality, his height wouldn't matter. ANY REAL PARENT would love him anyway and would teach him to love himself. Although he would be shorter than the average man, he would be tall to those young ladies who will only grow up to be 5'0".
Open up your mind and stop living in stereotype. Teach your child stereotypes and that's what he will accept. Teach him that he can conquer anything . . including social acceptance . . and he will do just that.
Personally I'm glad that you will never be a mother (because you're a man). You must realize that all chidren will not grow tall like Shaq . . and these things that make them different are what makes them special.

My son is short and he can't keep the women away and makes good money work's at a doctors office. This is really besides the point. Aborting a baby is not a good thing to do in my opinion anyway! Are you tall?

Involuntary virgin for life- LOL!
Seriously though, I would absolutely not abort a baby especially for that reason. I know many short men who are very successful and happy. That would be silly and wrong.

No, I wouldn't. Not everyone will be tall in life, so to me just because he would be 5'3" isn't really a reason to abort the baby. Personally, I would teach him to not want to think that the society says about him is just a opinion about him, and that he could prove them wrong.
