I didn't realise that their was still so much stupidity and ignorance in North America. I guess it is more prevalent in certain areas. What do you think?

Let me explain something to you all who care. I live in Vancouver, Canada, it is cosidered one of the most multicultural citys in the world. Racism does exsist here but it is not that prevalent. It is very common in this city for whites and blacks and natives and chinese and whoever to be friends. Large groups of multicultural peoples who are all great friends. I have lived this way as long as I've been old enough to make friends basically. Their are people here who stick to cultural groups and fight with others who stick to their cultural groups but it is a small minority of people who do that here.

Hey Speel! You are the most confused clown I've ever read!!!

At least one person has said that they see just alot of young kids on here being racists, but I beg to differ. I've seen a ton of grown ups on here with racists comments.

I said it a hundred times. We are only one race "the human race". When will we see that? I dunno.

in my opinion i don't think we're ever rid of racist for the fact that there are so many ignorance's in this country not counting other part of the world. i guess it part of our humanly nature to have a bit of stupidity. you should also consider that some of us have parents that was raised with narrow minded and anger that they carry and passed on along the family tree. also there are those who refused to seek help because they see that there nothing wrong with the way they are. i don't think there will be a world of free racist any time soon just as long there human beings on this planet but we could start to eliminate just a bit by educating our self and hope fully we educate our children to be a better person and treat every individual equally. there no harm in peace and harmony. we could only hope right...it start within the family's values...

i feel its sad, i feel that people should look at the way that hate has destroyed alot of generations..i feel that its a persons raising because it is really hard sometimes not to have some kind of bad feeling towards some race..but i feel that the main important thing is forgiveness of our past, and that we all find peace with one another and everyone see that every race matters..yes sometimes one has a great idea or really nice ways of doing stuff but that is the awsome thing about making new friends in a different culture we learn to except and love one another..and that is what everyone should do, but sadly not everyone feels the same..

Surprised? No way!

You have reached a medium where any one can say anything they want without having to answer for it or be held accountable for their opinion. In other words, ignorance can run rampant here and there is no one to keep it in check.

It is sad that a country as blessed as the United States contains so many ignorant people. This country is what it is because of our racial mixture, like it or not.

No I am not surprised. I live in a city that is 70% black 30% white. I am white. The racism on both sides is terrible.
Worst part is, they are allowed to want to live in a black neighborhood but if we say we want to live in a white one, I am the lowest form of life.

Yes, I too was surprised at the amount of sheer hatred and vitriolic that is spewed on this site. The ignorance is shocking. It has really taken away some of my naivety that all people are basically good. I really don't know about that anymore.

I think it is so annoying. Even though I see it everyday out in the real world, I just don't understand why people would get on the computer and put people down just for the fun of it.

Racism is hereditary- kids learn it from stupid people, most often their idiot parents. Unfortunately, fear sometimes looks like racism too, but they're not the same thing. But the people who want to look like they're being persecuted are quick to attach the label of "racist" onto someone who is just afraid, instead of trying to be a friend.

I think its on the rise again.. Tensions are building.. In times of economic decline people tend to get worse.
Hostilities and fears run over into other areas.

I do not find an inordinate number of racists here..

I do find a very youthful, ignorant , liberal , opinionated group
which will hopefully grow with education and get some common
sense & wisdom as they age.

Some people are indeed stupid and stupid people usually stay
stupid however youthful foolishness is usually temporary.

I'm in no way surprised. I've witnessed bigotry and prejudice throughout my life in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Texas. I believe it stems from a Seperatist Theology which advocates "We're better than They are" attitudes.
