depending on how worn they are, can be a very dangerous choice to keep driving, if the joint were to separate while driving you could loose control and possibly crash

at the very least the tires will wear unevenly and the handling will be erratic if not downright dangerous. At the worst one will snap and the tire and wheel on that side will fall over under the weight of the vehicle and the vehicle will make a violently hard turn beyond your control due to how fast it happens to the side that broke and your vehicle will either stop dead where it is or crash into whatever is in it's way.

Ball joints are attached to the steering arm (knuckle) and can (if worn enough), 'pop' out. Tire damage is for sure.
There are 'safety' items on vehicles and then there are 'non safety' items on vehicles.
Your steering and braking are the most important safety features your vehicle has to offer.
70 mph and you loose ability to steer the vehicle, replace them, ASAP.

basically bad ball joints messes up your alignment so it'll chew your tires up unevenly, either more wear on the inside or outside
if the ball joints go out completely.. you'll lose steering capabilities
& possibly lose a wheel..

you run the risk of loosing control of the vehicle when it breaks and the wheel lays over on it,,not to mention the damage its going to do to your car when it does break,,also you can cause a serious accident if this happens in heavy traffic,,it is not safe to drive this way,,if you don't get it repaired,,and you get in a accident,,they will rule it ,,to be your fault,,you need to get it repaired as soon as possible,,i own a repair shop,,in Tennessee,,and i recommend that you do not drive it,,if you do,,it may cost you more than you can ever replace,,i hope this helps.
