It depends on your relationship and what you said, you could just keep saying sorry and hope that works, you could buy flowers or something to make a big romantic gesture, you could try explain why you said what you said....to be honest unless they picked up on something you said wrong then you prob did mean it you just never meant for it to be said...you know like if you think someone is fat but you would never actually say it to them like and all you can do is apologise and try to make up some excuse for why you said it!

Flowers, bro. If it's a woman, anyway.

No matter how bitter , cynical or hard faced a woman is, they are total SUCKERS for flowers.

Don't ask me why this is but it is a well known phenomenon. Works every time.

Of course it is not the first time I have had flowers flung back at me but when all else fails?

If you have upset a guy, of course flowers might NOT be appropriate!!

Write a letter, you can say what you really want without interuption.
A letter is always more personal, as you have bothered to sit down and really think about what you have to say.
They too, will be more calm in themselves, just sitting reading your letter, and will therefore think about it more rationally.Good Luck.

Say it face to face if you can or by hand-written letter if you can't. Whatever you do, don't text, phone or e-mail; these suggest that you are distancing yourself from that person and by extension, the apology that you are offering.

If you are genuinely sorry all you can do is give your best apology and promise you won't ever say that again.
