Ok I am a Pre - teen I love the thought of being abstinence . I t is my choice because it is the best choice. I saw a word and did not know what it was so I decided to ask. I have done some research and is it true that when you get on any birth control method it takes longer to conceive?

I just got the IUD inserted about 3 months ago. I kinda have mixed feelings on it. It basically takes as long as it would to get a Pap. They simply insert the IUD into your uterus and leave a string (similar to a tampon). I love the IUD because I have only had one period since I got it and it was very, very light at that. Plus I dont have to worry about taking a pill everyday. My complaints are that I spotted for about 5 weeks after I got it and I have cramps alot (I never had cramps beforehand). I also like the predictability of the pill when it comes to my period. With the IUD your not really sure when you'll start, if you do at all. The IUD doesnt exactely hurt when they put it in but it is extremely uncomfortable. Afterwards is another story. I had piercing cramps for about 4 hours afterward and they said it was normal. Just be sure to take an IB Profen about 30 min prior to getting to the doc office. All in all I guess I like it.

I had a IUD when I was young they put it in at the doctor's office. It really didn't hurt when they put it in. I had them take it out 2 day's after they put it in because it made my stomach hurt. I would get on the pill. It has been around for the longest time. Just take one everyday and don't forget!!
