I was about 26 weeks when I had my child. I was having s-x with my husband when I noticed that I was bleeding. He drove me to the hospital and by that time I was having what felt like menstrual cramps in my lower abdomen. The nurse that checked me told me that I was 7cm dialated and there was no way of stopping my labor. So they quickly took me into the operating room and performed an emergency C-section. When I asked what could have cause my preterm labor, i was told that there was no specific reason - that the baby just wanted to come out. I have never been satisfied with that answer. I don't smoke, drink, or use drugs. At the time I was working as a store manager and I felt so much pressure and it was really getting to me. I decided to quit one Friday afternoon and a week later, I went into labor. Two weeks prior to that, I had "spotted" my underwear but didn't think much of it because it only happened once. Was it the pressure or the fact that I had s-x while pregnant (wrong move)

Sorry that you had your baby earlier than expected but those are things that just happen. It could have been your job or could have been the sex, it could have been anything no one knows. I have had sex in my pregnancies and never went into pre term labor.

In the future when you notice anything in your pregnancy that you are unsure about...just call your doctor or go to the hospital. Yeah you saw spotting and blew it off. When I see spotting I get concerned and call my doctor or the hospital right away.

You could have not prevented your baby from being born so early and there is no logical answer for it. No one knows the answer but the Lord himself.

Just focus on your baby and do not worry of the reasons why your baby was born so early.

So this is what I've heard, having sex while pregnant can soften the cervix which can bring on labor ( I don't know this for sure though, cause if you ask me it sounds like a bunch of crap. I'm 30 wks and have been having sex the entire pregnancy more so then I did with my first pregnancy which actually I was 41wks when I had him). So that's a possibility, also stress can induce labor. If you we're working hey that could have done it as well. Unfortuantly it could have been a number of things but you probably will never know for sure. They do say that the body knows if something is wrong and if your body felt it was time to go it was time to go....

It wasn't because you had sex. Most women have sex clear up to the day with no problems. Your clue that their may have been problems was the two week prior to the labor when you started spotting and the pressure you were feeling.
Be cautious during your next pregnancy for these signs. Plus your doctor will probably label your pregnancy high risk and watch you closer.

Stress can do so much to your body. It was probably the stress at your job since you stayed working there almost the whole pregnancy. The sex with your husband wouldn't have cause you to advance so rapidly to 7cm dialated. It just so happened that having sex cause it all to progress. As long as you and your baby are healthy, just be thankful for that and move on. Good luck!

Its not what you want to hear, but you'll never get an answer that satisfies you. Some things just happen. That's the way it is. There are alot of pregnant mothers that go to term, or even go overdue. I hope your child is ok. And rest assured that sex had nothing to do with it. It was just time for your child to be born.

What happened to your baby? Sometimes stress can cause you to go into preterm labor and sometimes your body just thinks it is time. My sister-in-law went into pre-term labor because of an incomplete cervix. I am very sorry. Once it happens it can happen with your next child so please be careful and watch for any bleeding and cramping.

I'm sorry for your loss, however it is my understanding that there are really no signs for this. I doubt very seriously that it was the sex that cause any harm, and I doubt that it was all due to stress. if you are really concerened then definatly go to a high risk Dr. for your next pregnancy, they may be able to tell you somthing else. some women just cant hold a pregnancy to term, its nothing that you did I'm sure.
