Bare Minerals foundation is meant to match your skin and provide invisible coverage. If you have the correct shade and have used the right amount and applied it correctly, it shouldn't look "makeup-y" or like a mask. It should look like your best skin.

Here is how:

Tap a little foundation in the lid. With your Flawless Application Brush or Kabuki swirl the brush until all the minerals are tucked up into the brush.
Tap the brush handle to remove any excess back into the lid.
Buff. This is an important step. It takes some practice to get it right.
Start at your forehead, close to your hairline. Start buffing in a circular motion. Use gentle but firm pressure on the brush. You should see and feel the foundation covering, but not grinding into your skin. Cover your forehead. Work down the outside of your face, on side then the other. Then work in to the centre of your face.

Pick up more minerals as you need them by swirling and tapping and continuing until you have done your whole face.
Don't be afraid to really buff that stuff on. And use as much as you need. The tiny amount shown in the informercials and demos is not enough. Gently "swiping" the brush across your skin is wrong, too. Buff, buff, buff.

Add extra coverage where you need it. Use less where you don't need so much. Then buff it all together. It should blend flawlessly together.

Apply Mineral Veil and finish your makeup.

Remember, mineral makeup has a learning curve. You will have to practice and play with it to get the right application technique and amount for you. Once you get it down, MMU is the best thing for your skin and it is fast and easy, too. Good luck, I HTH.

you shouldn't have to use a ton to notice a difference. I would watch for one of the shows on the shopping channels..not only do they sell the products in awesome packages but they show you all the different ways to use the products on models. It's definitely a big help and most of the time users call in and give tips or other ways they've used to products as well. I've been using the makeup for awhile and I love it.

how much are u using?, you don't need a whole lot of it for it to work, you might have gotten the wrong color as well, what you should do is go to the cosmetics section of any store, they usually have a skin color chart, compare your color to what they have on the chart, and if all else fails, just try something else. adding more makeup clogs your pores, don't wear too much or you will break out.

i am not sure what problem you are having..but it is not supposed to make you look 'made up' just kind of enhances your skin tone and evens it out, covers the imperfections. just use a little bit and tap the excess off the brush and swirl it on in a circular motion-- i like the big buki brush the best for this, but whatever works for you is fine..just make sure it is a natural hair brush..acrylic or synthetic bristles don't seem to work with this type makeup.

I kinda think you're not doing anything wrong. I've been trying it and I don't really notice a difference until I get to work and look at myself in a mirror right under a fluorescent light.

Save yourself some money and try either Neutrogena's line or Physician's Formula's line of mineral products. I have talked to a couple of my customers about this line you purchased and they weren't happy with it either. Go to Physician's Formula's or Neutrogena's website and check it out.
