I get dozens of spam every day.It's so annoying.I was told to block their addresses and report them as spam.How do I do that?.Please be specific.Step by step instructions.I run windows xp and have yahoo mail.Thanks for your help.

To block an address as spam or jus to block annoying e-mails follow these steps:

# [1] Instructions: Yahoo! Mail Beta:
→ Log in to your Yahoo! account
→ Go to your Inbox and select the e-mail which came from the address you want to block
→ After you have selected the message, click Spam.
.... This should do it, if not then follow the number [3] instructions]

# [2] Instructions: Yahoo! Mail old version:
→ Log in to your Yahoo! account
→ Go to your Inbox and select the e-mail which came from the address you want to block
→ Above is a small "toolbar" and click Mark as Spam

# [3] Instructions: These instructions are for any version of Yahoo! Mail:
→ Log in to your Yahoo! account
→ On your upper-right hand, click Options
→ Under Spam section, click on Spam Protection
→ Under Hamlet select both boxes

These steps will do it :)

To block a certain address you need to add a filter. Here are the instructions:

Block E-mail Addresses:
1. Sign in to Yahoo! mail.
2. On the upper right hand corner, click Options.
3. On the new webpage, click Block Addresses.
4. Enter the e-mail address you want to block and click [Add].

Spam Filter:
1. Follow the same steps to enter in to the Options page.
2. On the Options page, click Spam Protection.
3. Under Spam Filter, make sure the option "SpamGuard is ON" is selected.
4. Under "When I mark a message as Spam, in addition to deleting the message:" make sure "Add the sender's email address to my blocked addresses list" is selected. Click [Save Changes].
5. The next time you received a spam e-mail message, mark it as Spam (on the header of each message, there should be a [Spam] button click it].

On Yahoo when you open the email, there are 5 option buttons on the top of the message. (Delete, Reply, Forward, Spam, Move)
Click on the spam one, it will automaticaly send any emails from the address to your Bulk folder. I am not sure how to block an email address.

select the mail and click the button called spam
