What's your opinion on hydrogen tech/future of hydrogen cars?

I agree it rocks, but until gasoline costs hit about $6-$7 per gallon and the infrastructure to fuel a vehicle with hydrogen can be made available to the general public, you'll find gasoline as the cheaper alternative.

It's a cool idea who's time may be right around the corner.

Hydrogen is great as an automotive fuel -- no more pollution devices, lightweight storage, burns clean and powerful and there are oceans full of the stuff for free. The cost of converting water to hydrogen are VERY high at this time. Sadly, the fact is it takes more fossil fuel to create hydrogen that it does to just burn it in our cars. But never give up hope. There are always new technologies around the corner which may someday allow us to harness H; then watch as the middle east disolves into sand once again.

Agree. Anything that costs less, or puts less pollution in the air, is a step forward.
