MP3 rocket and limewire both have spyware.

But Limewire is legit. So it's safe.

LimeWire is safe. The *PROGRAM* is free of viruses and spyware, no matter what the bozos above say. The *NETWORK* (called Gnutella) it connects to is a different matter. There are plenty of viruses for some hapless victim to download.

MP3Rocket is nothing more than a ripoff of an old out of date LimeWire. Avoid!

To "potat4o": What the hell is that address for limewire pro?!? It smells of a MP3 scam site. Oh wait! It IS a scam site!

The *ONLY* authorized site to get LimeWire and to *purchase* LimeWire Pro is at http://www.limewire.com

Anywhere else is a scam!

dont know the rocket .
lime wire appears safe at first ,i had it and then bought the better version ,all was ok for awhile but then it took over my machine ,could not get into anythying anymore ,tried deleting it ,in the end it damaged my hard disk and i had to buy a new hard disk .
be very carefull it is very sneaky
,but you wont notice untill after a few months by then your computor has been scanned by who know who
.
try finding out who owns limewire .it is a tool of the illuminati ,if you ask me

i am now using emule ,it is much slower but so far after 4 months there have not been any negative problems ,and i can get into my chat or email whilst it is running which i could not do with lime wire.
and other users on the same modem are not affected ,and they were with lime wire

emule has a down gear and you can put it on low so that it uses almost no space on the line.

What do you mean by safe. Safe as in spyware or safe as in legal. Limewire is legal, but the amount of viruses and spyware on it is amazing. Ive never used MP3 rocket but nobody can have more malware then limewire. MP3 rocket is illegal no matter waht you say, its in the name.

mp3 rocket is a copycat of limewire.

you are danger free if you have an updated antivirus, or internet security suite.

go for limewire, but i'm highly recommending BitComet from bitcomet.com to be your choice of p2p (peer to peer) file sharing programs, because if offers more than what other p2p programs can give, without any cost and perilous viruses and trojans.

Limewire has the most spyware. Personally I still rate Kazaa despite what people have said about it.

both of them are illegal. The gov't has ruled sharing music or programs in this fashion violates the copyright laws. The only legal way to download songs from these sources is if you own a copy of the song already. The better way to get music is a service like iTunes or Yahoo! music
