Ok, so my pool's water was green & I did the necessary things to put it back to normal. It got back to normal and got celar, but the sides have green stuff on it, I think its still algae, any ways people got in & then all the water turned cludy. Any ideas why this happened, it was clear before they got in, ecept the sides that were green. This pool is above ground. Any tips on how to get the green stuff of the pool sides?

I just went through this whole problem myself..
I tried shocking the pool, upping the alcalinity and everything else.
I ended up emptying the pool and refilling it after cleaning it thoroughly.

Our alcalinity level was off. It was too low, which will give the pool a cloudy look. It will also put your PH balance off.
The best way to find out the problem, is to test your water.
We use the test strips.

The green is definitely algae... scrub your pool with a good strong bristled brush. Do both the sides and the bottom.
Also, clean or replace your filter, depending on which type you use. It never hurts to take a jet powered hose to your filter to remove algae.

That's all I can suggest. Good Luck

Only way to get it off is to scrub it off... best way is empty the pool, scrub the sides and wet vac the thing out then start with fresh water. Alternative is the following: put a fresh filter in and get in there and scrub it good. The water will cloud up with all the algae particles. Next cast in a floculant (or floc) which will adhere to the small algae particles and make them bigger so that the filter will actually hold them. Floculants can be purchased at any pool or whirlpool shop and are sometimes available at Walmart type stores depending on the season.

Read the floculant instrucions carefully... since it is a type of polymer, overuse may make "jelly balls" in your pool.

Make sure you treat the pool weekly at a minimum once you get it clean. I usually send my boys in with washrags and have them do a good once over just keep ahead of the algae game. Make a competition out of it if you have kids, that way you won't have to do all the work. ;)

use a brush, and the cloudiness was the dead algey which settled to the bottom. People swimming in it is good it will keep the water churned so the filter can now do it's part it will settle agian so kick it up as much as possible till it is filtered out. the chems make the algey dead and will bleach them

july,

I do not know where you live, but go to a pool store and have your water tested. Sounds like you need more chlorine

if you put clorine tablets it will make the algea (green stuff) go away and if you put too many chemicals in it will get cloudy.
