I am a high school teacher, and am SO tired of wasting time telling the students to pull their pants up. I know there is fashion, but this has NEVER seemed like fashion, to be seeing people's underwear, and young men having to hold their crotch to keep their pants from falling around their ankles. It is assumed this has some background in gangsters, but what is so cool about your pants hanging off???? It's just silly to me. The kids have other fashion which isn't my taste, but it's understandable, I had things I liked when I was young my parents did not

This "fashion" started in prison. To wear your pants down like that was to show other inmates that you were "available" to them for their sexual pleasure. Every time I see these kids wearing clothes like that I laugh out loud. They think they are totally cool, yet they are making a statement that they want to be some body's b*tch.

It's just a fad stemming from prison inmates being given clothes too big so they fastened strings around their waist to keep their pants up and wore the oversized T-shirts. It will pass like everything else.

Because every teenager really needs to have a bunch of photographs of themselves dressed in ways that will have their own kids rolling on the floor in laughter twenty years down the road.

Please let me know when you find out! The sad thing is the way to stop that fashion statement would get us arrested........but Lord, I would love to just spend one day going around pulling their pants down. I think they would get the message if, as they walked about their day women walked past them and yanked their pants down.............

I asked a kid that and he said it was a fashion statement. I think it is a statement of some sort, the fashion is not there.

Those are prison pants, because they don't allow belts due to a suicide phenomena. Hmmm.
