Most email services have an option to attach a receipt to email. What this does is send you an email when email is displayed on persons screen

Only way is to check the options of delivery confirmation and read confirmation. These options are available in mail clients like outlook, but you have to go for yahoo plus service which is paid service.

Some email clients will let you know when your email has been opened by the other person, but I haven't seen this in years....

Yes the only way to know is to access their email account and see if it's been opened. Considering its a billion to one password system you'd be better off to ask them to reply to your previous email.

up near the send button in like tiny letters theres a button that says "flag" and if you check that it will. thats what my b/f always tells me. but i just went to my email and i cant find it. i never have. so sorry.
