I believe national security is the right of a nation to secure any resources in another country, they need to "survive". Whether they have enough in their own country or not!

I'd say that's accurate, that is what is meant by "Strategic Resource".

How about the right of the other country to protect the resources you want to take? I'd say that is a better definition.
