Why not do something different and not get your belly button pierced? You're obviously frightened about the procedure (I don't blame you) or you wouldn't be asking all these questions. Why look EXACTLY like everyone else?

Don't ask "does it hurt?" ask "how much does it hurt?". Of course sticking a hollow metal tube through your skin is gonna hurt. But it will only hurt for a second or two, once when they put the needle through and then again when the jewelry goes through. The needle isn't too big, you will see soon, but it is hollow. Also the first few times you clean it you will feel a little bit of pain. Just be careful not to let it snag or rub up against anything while its healing! Have fun with your new piercing!
Oh and make sure to have food and stuff before you go in to get pierced, cause piercings tend to drop your blood sugar like a rock and you could end up passing out if your blood sugar is too low.

These are all questions you should be asking the licensed piercer you are having do the job. No two people are the same so how much it hurts or how long it takes to heal will depend on your personal pain threshold and immune system. It is a core piercing which is very different from just getting your ears done. You are off to the right start by doing your research, but talk to the professional. Good Luck

Yes it hurts! have you had your ears pierced then it's pretty much the same sort of pain! I am being honest with you, it isn't as bad as you may think it will be, i have had my belly, nose and ears pierced and i have also had a tattoo and the belly is one of the least painful spots, but it does hurt!! but only for a sec...
If you are really scared go to a chemist and get some numbing cream or spray, put it on half and hour before going for the piercing and you won't feel a thing.. I use Emla cream on my son before he has to go for a jab so that he doesn't scream the whole doctor surgery down!!!

does it hurt-yes for a second it will hurt but your worrying is going to be the worst part
how long does it hurt-the piercing only a second, the healing can be uncomfortable for a few days, just sore kinda
needle is about 1.5 to 2" in length, you can look up pictures of needles online
the jewelry is typically 7/8" so the amount of skin will be give or take depending on the piercer around 5/8" of skin.
it takes around 9 months to heal 'fully' but around 2 years to become, 'seasoned' and build up tissue to better support it.

well, it doesn't hurt, unless you're really perceptive to pain, they go through about a hafl inch of skin total, and one thing you should know MAKE SURE IT'S CENTERED!!!! my peircing was fine, but my friends was not centered and it was SO crooked it was hilarious. but in the end i let my peircing heal back together because it looked funny underneath my clothing and everyone has one now.
