In Europe there is a tax on every bicycle , I would not mind paying that IF they also gave us a safe Bicycle path to ride on. I would love to use my bike to go to work but there is no safe road for me to take.

No. Many people cycle because they can't afford to drive. Others do so because it's better for the environment. You are saying that cyclists insist on these cycle lanes. My reply to that is:
1. Those cycle lanes begin and end in completely random places.
2. I don't know many cyclists who actually insist on having cycle lanes.
3. If they are using the cycle lanes, what is your problem?
4. If they are in YOUR way, does it not occur to you that it might actually be you not driving carefully enough
5. Cyclists aren't ruining the environment or the roads. Road tax is paid for the upkeep of the roads, etc.
6. I think there are some people who wouldn't like anything any way. ie. You think cyclists should pay for these cycle lanes but you wouldn't like it if they were all on the roads slowing you down. I think it is more to do with impatient drivers that these cycle lanes have been created.

That`s a fair point, anything to keep the idiots off the pavements...... :-)
50: You MUST obey all traffic signs and traffic light signals.
Laws RTA 1988 sect 36, TSRGD reg 10(1)
51: You should
keep both hands on the handlebars except when signalling or changing gear
keep both feet on the pedals
"NOT RIDE MORE THAN TWO ABREST!"
ride in single file on narrow or busy roads
not ride close behind another vehicle
not carry anything which will affect your balance or may get tangled up with your wheels or chain
be considerate of other road users, particularly blind and partially sighted pedestrians. Let them know you are there when necessary, for example by ringing your bell.

here in Spain there is not any street tax as such the place we'd desire to exhibit the tax disc. yet we do have a exhibit sticky label to instruct we've a each year MOT. We pay a extremely much less costly tax (between 35€- 75 euros looking on petrol or diesel) yet my considerable crimson meat with the gadget it is that as quickly as you sell or purchase a automobile you may desire to flow to the site visitors workplace with all documents (purchaser and enterprise) pay a metamorphosis of proprietor tax that's 4% of the value of the automobile and wait hours to accomplish that. So in spite of everything that i think of you're greater helpful off in a fashion as all you may desire to do is fill interior the log e book and the two deliver it to the DVLC. so which you pay one way and we the different. You a minimal of have alot much less hardship. via how our roads and pavements are alot worse than yours!!

As a safe and considerate cyclist of many years, I would be happy to pay some form of Road Tax and Third Party Insurance if it would help to improve road safety and keep all the bad cyclists off the roads. Sadly, any such scheme is simply not finacially viable and would be impossible to police.

Everyone pays taxes that go to roads regardless if you drive, cylce or take the bus.
The country and city should actually being doing more to encourage more people to get out of their cars and bike.
However, I do feel their should be a helmet law for bikes, its crazy that people bike in this city without helmets.

No I don't feel they should pay road tax, they are not exactly polluting the environment with petrol or diesel.
Where I live the cycle path isn't near the road and it is used as a footpath as well.
We all pay taxes one way or another. I think we should ban cars from the cities and everyone should have to walk or cycle. They encourage people to cycle in some places in Europe.
