I have a little knowledge in computer, can anyone tell what are the difference between Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor and the ordinary Intel Centrino without dual processor? what are the benefits?
thank you

A dual processor system has two cpus whereas a normal pc would only have one processor. With two cpus, you will have more proccessing speed and should be faster. However, you also need to have enough memory to handle the additional cpu. A dual processor system is usually more expensive than a single processor system. It depends on what type of system you are looking for and how you will using it will determine what system to get. Hope this helps.

First things first. A dual-core processor is one which has two (single-core processors have one) cores (the collection of millions of transistors which power the processor) built into the same processor. It has many advantages over single-core ones, like multi-tasking, operating efficiency, lower power consumption and more. In real-world effects, this would translate into a faster (though you may not experience it with routine applications) computer, less heating, efficient use of processor speed, etc. The dual-core processors are the next generation, and single-cores are on their way out. In the futre, we may (if some other technological advance doesn't eclipse it) see processors with a large number of cores.

The primary difference between a Centrino and a Core2Duo is that the Centrino range of processors are built for mobile compuers, i.e. Laptops (or notebooks). Core2Duo (also called Conroe) is the latest dual-core processor range from Intel, and currently it does NOT have a moblie model. They may launch it pretty soon, which would be called Centrino2Duo. The current dual-core solution for moblie users is the CentrinoDuo, the moblie equivalent of the Pentium D (or CoreDuo) processors from Intel, which are the previous dual-core solutions from Intel.

So, if you want a dual-core Centrino processor, your option is the CentrinoDuo.

Duo Processor means that two CPU chips are mounted on the same processor chip. Results is that instead of one processor you have two.

This technology is rather new. All CPUs will be manufactured in that format or in quad format. Now the software programmers have to rewrite their software code to be able to take advantage of Duo Processor capability. They are doing just that, still it will take some time!

These new CPUs also use 64bit instruction length code.
Previous systems use 32 bit instruction length code.
The more information that can be placed in one instruction, the faster the system will run!

Two cpus are in the computer, but try the new Mac G5 quad core!!

a computer with a duo prosessor means that it has two processors, so it has more power
