Good Question!!!

I think if I could change anything in history it would be either the death of Hitler before he was old enough to set the wheels in motion. WHY??? To save alllll those innocent lives lost in the camps and in WWII.

Yes i believe everything happens for a reason....BUT if i could change WITHOUT negitive response for the change.

A number of people pointed out the potential danger in trying to change the past if we could. Could there be harm in trying to warn Captain Smith about the Iceberg? Anyone remember the old TV show The Time Tunnel? They had their guy end up on the Titanic, he warned them and was thrown in the brig for his trouble.

I wouldn't change anything. Every action whilst we may see some immediate good will cause many other actions of which we cannot predict.

For example if you stop Hitler being born, you don't change the events that led to his rise to power and maybe somebody else who had a similar mindset but was militarily capable comes to power.

I would go back and learn what really happened so that we can learn the correct lessons today.

The captain of the Titanic was warned, so no dice there; but if I could have prevented the England and the Allies from allowing Hitler to re-arm and have gotten them to stop him when he put his first toe over his own border I would have.

You wouldn't want to, the consequences would be catastrophic. Take for instance the idea of killing Hitler when he was a baby. A very riteous move, right?

Wrong, with Hitler out of the picture, Ernst Roem takes over as Chancellor in 1933 and HE decides to implement the 'heavy water' program in the thirties resulting in a nuclear device by 1940.

In quick succession he defeats Britain and the USSR, eliminates European Jewry and enslaves half the planet. Thanks to your meddling in the space-time continuum, you really messed things up

Sticking with current events, I'd attempt to change Saudi Arabia's decision to propagate strict Muslim fundamentalism throughout the world. The Saudi leaders should have made a conscious decision to use the billions of dollars that they garnered from oil to initiate a cultural revolution that emphasized education, individualism and freedom of religion rather than fundamentalism and autocratic rule.

One of the things I would do is introduce our present-day cures for smallpox and other diseases. I would also have some choice words with the Marquis de Lafayette, who has been overrated as a hero in my opinion. Also, I have often wondered how the world would have turned out if there were such things back in the 16th-18th centuries as DNA testing, photography, fiber optic surgery, professional handwriting analysis, secret security cameras, etc.

Of course; I think anyone would. There is a podcast on iTunes that deals with that kind of subject (it's geared toward kids but people of all ages listen to it) called "The Radio Adventures of Doctor Floyd."

If you don't have iTunes or an MP3 player, you can get their episodes on the web. I put in their website for reference. The plot involves two scientists traveling in time to prevent an evil villain (who had stolen a time machine from one of the scientists) from stealing historical artifacts and selling them on eBay. It's funny as heck and it's cool.

Go back to the few days before the crucifixion of Christ and tell Satan and the Jews what the result would be if they crucified Christ. How he would raise from the dead and all. I would have told them to just let him loose and not kill him. that would have really screwd things up and then their wouldn't have been hundreds of thousands or millions of people killed in the crusades and throughout human history. no spanish inquisition, no persecution of witches by the church because there would have been no church. and also their wouldn't be any of those damn fundamentalist nuts trying to judge and control the rest of us. Deny the martyr his martyrdoom. somehow convince the crowd to beg for the release of Jesus instead of Barabas and that would have done it.

If time travel is possible, I would go back to the time where first humans started to evolve into intelligent species and see that it did not happen.

This world would be far better place with out humans
