humanity

when it comes down to it, what makes us human is that we have reason, thats pretty much the only difference we have from animals. the most complex thing man does is play music, i dont mean crapily, i mean the theory behind it, its harder than rocket science. and monkeys and apes have been taught to play and understand music. to a degree. but animals can do pretty much anything we can do, except for fly a helicopter which is the second most complex thing man does. as it requires the exact science of defying gravity, all four limbs are used to maneuver, as well switch flipping goodness thrown in.
all animals learn things, and animals are much more intune with their instincts than we are, but we have the ability to reason, that is what set us aside from everything else on this planet long ago, except dolphins, they are so incredably complex, having every part of the brain that we have, as well as many regions of the brain that preform tasks and do things that we have no clue as to whats happening. but they are in the water, so thats different.
the other thing is we have a different state of consciousness.

Human as in what, skin, bone, flesh, or humanities, thought, speech, movement. It is only society that has told us that we are human, to believe or say that we are surely must meant that you have labelled yourself 'human'. It is only a word as is everything we say, read or write especially if it is accepted. So I suppose human is not animal or vegetable!

The fact we know what we are, the fact we can think and solve puzzles, the fact we can create tools and use fire, the fact we can discover the univers and understand what we find.

These can be done by other animals but only humans can do them all. Im sure there are other things ive missed out, but the list is long!

Well, we used to say toolmaking, but then we found chimps making tools. Then we said language, but the great apes can be taught, and use, language. We thought it might be consciousess of self, but again, primates recognize themselves in mirrors.
Maybe it's laughter. No other creature seems to have a sense of humor or to laugh out loud.... Hooray for us!

Nothing - its a self-serving defintion. Most apes are nicer than some humans I've met.

God made us human. That's what makes us human, because God made us and he made us 'man,' a likeness of God himself. And through all of the scientific classifications for living things, 'man' are classified as 'human' also called "Homo sapiens."

Some of us have learnt at least one language. And we don't sit around picking nits and ticks out of each others hair and then eating them. Apart from that not a lot.
