Translucent powder is to stop the undesirable sweaty shine....apply liberally all over face and brush off excess...always apply this before the illuminating powder

Illuminating powder is to highlight certain areas.....the cheekbone....forehead......use a seperate brush and blend it in..just a fraction over your rouge line and around the brow

also mix it with the translucent powder for an all over iridescent glow

The previous answer is correct... I just wanted to add that translucent powder goes on after the rest of your makeup, to set it.

The others are correct (to set the MU) and when to use it.

Also I use different shades of translucent powder to achieve subtle shading effects with my makeup. (contour/tone down colors) Have fun with it.

ok, well I put some on a brush and then I work up my cheekbones. Illuminating powder is different, I think! lol.
