it depends on wht type of voice you have if you have a mellow chill voice (like cassie) i would say anything alliyah, tlc, gwen stefanni, etc.
but if you have a multi octave range (like christina) id say christina's new disc, jessica, pink, and of course BEYONCE

Just play their songs a lot and try to sound like them. Sing from your diaphragm. I am also a singer, so try not to strain your throat. Relax and know how to breathe and maintain your breathe control. Sing everyday, it is a gift that you want to be able to share with others. Are you in choir at school? Lot's of singers begin-I did, and it's worth it. It helps with your self-esteem. I had a few moments where I was a soloist and a 50-member choir backing me and it was an indescribable feeling. Audition for everythin, and sing in talent shows. Let others know you can sing! And finally, sing for yourself, it feels good. No Britney Spears-I agree.

How about you get a vocal coach, let him/her train you and advise you on the best songs to sing.
I was a trained 1st soprano coloratura with about a 4 octave range, back in the day. Now I sport about 2 1/2 octaves. I find that Jazz is amazing to sing. You have to start off with easy stuff to move onto stuff like Christina. Learning to crawl before you walk and then run is important.

Determine your vocal range and pitch by doing some practice exercises. Many celebrity singers have wide ranges and can hit most any key; if you also have this gift then your possibilities are limitless. Look into the sounds of Alicia Keys and Aretha Franklin; two phenomenal singers with distinctly different styles and deliveries.
Sing to the music you like - music that appeals to your emotions and fits your vocal style. Music you like will be easier to memorize and thus to sing.

I love to sing too, but being an old lady, I don't know a lot of new stuff. If you have a lower voice, try Alicia Keys or, even better, Anita Baker from the '80's. She was so smooth and classy.

"at last" is a great song for any vocalist! I've been singing professionally for 8 years and you can win over any crowd, judge, or person with a good performance of that song!

Hey, i think that it depends from your mood. If you are happy sing Shakira's song "Hips don't lie"! it is cool song and makes the day brighter. If you are upset sing Kelly Clarkson "Because of you"!
