Lets say i am planning on getting one of those HP Copier/Printer/Scanner devices, but the thing is, it only uses 5mL instead of 28mL of ink. If i am just using the printer to print just words and no pictures. Can you tell me about how many pages can i get out of just 5mL.

Also would i be saving more by getting

about $18 for 5mL or $28mL for about $30

I know its probably obvious, but i didn't know if Hewlett Packard how a way to turn 5mL into 28mL, like web accelerators lowering quality to increase speed.

5ml cartridge will prints you maximum 250-300 pages if you're printing text using microsoft word 2003.

of course it's expensive.

i'll recommend you to buy canon printer
if you want to buy a multifunctional device and you don't need the fax. heres two choises for ya :
1- canon Pixma MP 150 or 170
better quality and lower consumption cost and their cartridges come with 16ml and in the same price of hp.
2- Canon Pixma MP 500, MP 800, Mp 800R, MP 950.
the beautiful thing is these models uses separate ink tanks for economical use and each one comes with 13 ml.. so all you have to do is to keep printing & printing & printing :D
and one more thing.. they come with a very high output quality of 9600 dpi.
Amazing...

so, you wont be in need to use any accelerator because if the quality of a printer is 9600 dpi ,, it'll consumbe less ink than the printer comes with only 4800 dpi in the standard mode ( 600-1200 dpi ).

Don't get an HP all in one printer. I'm warning you, you'll end up with a printer that does NOT work. Every single one of mine was screwed up. One never worked right out of the box, and that is one of the newest ones. I thought I'd give HP one more chance, because they look so smooth, but they still don't last long. I'm serious, I've had 5-6 of them, always thinking either that one was just faulty, or this one was a lemon, but the others won't be. I've even thought OK this one better work. You know what? Not a one of them lasted more than a few months tops. I no longer use HP all in ones. Their other printers are great, they just don't know how to make a good multipurpose machine. Check out this download from IRAQ regarding an HP all in one (see, I'm not the only one).

You must be an owner of one of HP's lowest price all-in-one units. Sorry to hear that you are having troubles, but I really am not surprised. Some HP's models are really trouble makers, and suffer from bad design. They offer lots of great features at a low price, but you get what you pay for. They offer some of those lower end models just to compete with Lexmark and Epson.

In any case, there is no way to easily add ink to those ink carts. Refills have their own problems. I do NOT advise you to use refilled or refurbished ink carts. You'll be sorry in the end.

Bottom line, I estimate the average user will get about 200 pages or black ink text out of a 5 ml ink cart, and maybe more with lower quality settings.

A 5ml cartridge gives you about 250 pages at 5% coverage on low quality. A more realistic estimate for everyday or even decent quality printing is about 100 pages.

The number 92 black or C9362WC most likely the cartrige of which you speak is one of the poorest value cartridges on the market. Hp really dropped the ball on this one.
