The best one written ever: " Gone With the Wind".
Stick to the classics ("Jane Eyre", "Emma" etc...). If you found Nicholas Sparks & Robert James Waller trashy, you definitely will not want to read "The Sleeping Beauty" series by Anne Rice. It is basically porn. Sir J is just messing with your head.

I absolutely l.o.v.e. A Tale Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. It's not really a romance per se, more focused on the French revolution, but the romance is definitely a major factor in it. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte is also amazing, and I love all of Jane Austen's books, Pride and Prejudice in particular.

The Time visitor's spouse through Audrey Niffenegger. possession: A Romance through A.S. Byatt. both one in all those books are quite frustrating and are not style romances. they're perfect literary love memories. possession specifically is intellectually stressful, yet fairly fairly worth it. in case you do not concepts lesbian love, attempt Sarah Waters' Fingersmith.

I just saw a great movie that is based off a book of the same name, it was called "their eyes were watching God". It's an Oprah produced movie you can get at libraries or movie rental places.
