The nazis just came to town and they had a big demonstration at the capitol. I don't understand why they were allowed to do this, other than the whole "free speech" thing. But should we really have to tolerate speech that is hateful? Why are these crazy people still following Hitler? Any other thoughts?

I don't believe this group belonged to the Nazis, as Hitler was, but rather a group relatively known as skinheads who use the Nazi symbol. They can be just as evil though. You are right, even though free speech is for everyone, there should be amendments about things like hate speeches & penalties as well.

Neo-nazis are patently cowardly and paranoid of those who are different from themselves.
Its also been suggested that there is some inbreeding involved but I have no research to prove this... though it may be self-evident.
Strictly speaking, they are allowed to demonstrate where ever they want, so long as it is peaceful, though peace is not something that follows them. As to how they are allowed to, I point you to the ACLU. The organization has a history of defending the indefensible and attacking the honorable.

not to defend the nazi's, but the real nazi's wouldnt have wasted their pee on these idiots. even though they're very much hated, nut group demonstrations should be valued simply because we are a free society and have a freedom of speech. besides, we need to have something to laugh at from time to time.

It is true they have the right to free speech just as we all do. That is they have the right to express their thoughts about the government here. They, however, do not have the right to hurt others. If they have assaulted you with their words you may have a case against them and you should pursue it.

We ALL have the right to pursue happiness and anyone who gets in the way of that pursuit is in violation of our laws.

there is a saying, the dogs continue to bark while the caravan passes by. thats what these Nazi demonstrators are, they are the dogs but u should act like the caravan and not give them any attention.

This was recently? I didn't hear about this. If I didn't there are probably a lot of other people who didn't hear about the demonstration, and even if they did, they didn't care.

That free speech thing?? You seem pretty careless and clueless about how incredible that one freedom really is. Don't takes our precious freedom's for granted, for freedom is not free. The price for freedom is paid with the blood of our soldiers.

Who is to say their ideals are any more crazy than yours? Hateful speeches =/= craziness, they are just passionate (I'm not a Nazi lover, I'm just putting it into perspective).

People are looking for a scapegoat for their problems instead of communicating with one another to solve them together.
