I was watching wallace and gromit with the kids and decided to show them how it was done. Digital camera, toy robot, MS Movie maker. An hour later I had a daft 10 second film. So people have powerfull PCs and software, but are they using them? If not - why? I'm not pontificating here - just wondering - especially as there are other posts along the lines of "I'm bored, what can I do?"

I download photos from digital camera and put them on to discs as well as printing some, Make all my birthday, Christmas, etc cards. Do all my personnel correspondence. All the usual things copy discs, play the Internet games. I have just got a camcorder, so next thing i shall be having a go at down loading the film from that. All these things might sound easy to some people, but as I have only had a computer for a year and self taught I don't have time for "I'm bored". I am 50+ and disabled so the computer as been the best thing to happen to me. My husband says best money he ever spent.

I use mine for some work if I'm just thinking about a work problem and I have an idea I want to work out. I also do some financial housekeeping. I have an old PC - PIII 450 MHz and it works just fine for the kind of stuff I do. The only reason I can come up with for upgrading is that I could start to do more video, but I rarely have time for that stuff. Buying an Apple is appealing to me for my next purchase just because the industrial design is nicer than a PC.

I built my pc to be able to play current games, and I also do some intense multitasking with graphic arts and design. So, I need my powerful computer. I also do a lot of bicycling, but it needs repair right now, so I'm wasting time on the computer.

I use mine for burning dvd's and music (the stuff I create, not already mass produced stuff) I also use mine to save pics from digital and film cameras. School and job related items.

I only email/surf because I am electronically retarded. I don't have any knack for this high tech stuff at all. My daughter will show me stuff and then I can do it. However, if I haven't done it for awhile, I forget.

Yes, I earn my living on it (multimedia/graphic stuff) and play massively multiuser role playing games on it, I use it to store my photos, music, backup my phone, store letters, diary, do my accounts. I'd be lost without it! Its like a massive handbag and office all in one!
