well, you can't pass them, they will only get worse. It will get infected and you could be in big trouble. If you doctor is recommending you get it removed and you've had your ultra sound and the surgeon agrees, then I'm afraid you must.

No, only if they are symptomatic. Around 50% of people are found to have gallstones at post-mortem and have been completely unaware of them.

If you know you have gallstones, it's probably because you've been having symptoms such as pain, and you've been sent for an ultrasound which has indicated stones in the gallbladder. If this is the case, then it's best that you do have the gallbladder removed. Cholecystectomy is a relatively simple operation, many surgeons now do it laparoscopically, which means they just make three tiny incisions in your abdomen and do the whole procedure through them - the recovery time is much quicker.

no longer yet. The complicated impediment isn't doing away with gallstones without taking the gallbladder at the same time as - there may be a pair of surgical procedures for this. The capture 22 situation is that maximum people that boost gallstones will boost a diverse one after it rather is eradicated, so combating gallstones is the better impediment.

No. I've read a book on it all, in an alternative view point. Gallstones are actually more located in the liver. There's a certain diet that can be performed to dispell the gallstones. Even if you do get the gallbladder taken out, you can STILL get gallstones in your body.

Yes... your gallbladder and your liver share a common bile duct. You have a duct from the gallbladder and one from your liver... they come together in a "Y" formation where the bottom stem connects into you GI tract and small intestine. Your bile is used to help digest your fats... The liver manufactures the bile and it is stored in the gallbaldder. If you gallbladder gets plugged up... the bile that the liver makes will back up and your liver will get problems... It is important to keep things open and working correctly. If you have your stones removed... they may just use ultrasound to pulverize them and then to let that grit flush out... or they may have to remove the gallbladder. Then the liver will put the bile into the GI tract... and it will not be stored in a gallbladder. So you see... there is a system in the operation of both your gallbladder and your liver that is important for your health... It is IMPORTANT that you take care of this... and keep it as healthy as you can. Good Luck... PS... I am a nurse... so if you are having problems... GO SEE A DOCTOR... asap.. :)

If gallstones become symptomatic (pain, jaundice, fever, nausea), the gallbladder must be removed, since gallstones can be potentially fatal in the long run. There are non-surgical ways of dissolving gallstones, but they are only used in compromised patients who cannot undergo the risk of surgery. You don't need your gallbladder. Without it, the bile will pass through the ducts and directly into the small intestine. Modern laparoscopic surgery is minimally invasive, and hospital stay is only one night, plus several days of restricted activity.

You can pass gallstones by simply drinking olive oil and lemon juice. I've had many clients that did it with great results. Here's a couple of links for you: http://www.healthwisdom.org/amrit/pg39.htm http://www.otan.us/webfarm/emailproject/gallstone.htm

unfortunately yes, especially if you have gal stones frequently. Otherwise you will have to put up with the issues with gal stones, which presents other medical issues. It is best to just have it removed to be safe.
