Besides heat, vacuuming power is what you need to do a good job on carpets, not all these rental portable units have a lot of vacuuming power and the heat is only as hot as the hot water in your house. Why they call them steam cleaners I don't know. Anyways the more vacuuming power, the more extraction there is ( dirt is removed) less chance of over wetting and less drying time. For the cost of renting a machine, buying carpet cleaner, defoamer, pre-spray, stain remover, etc... and hours of trying to extract the water out of your carpet I would hire a carpet cleaning co. that has a "TRUCK MOUNTED" steam cleaner and have them do it. I use to rent before, then I tried these guys and there is no comparison to the quality of the job and my carpets stay cleaner a lot longer. Get a quote and compare.

Depending on the humidity in your area, it can take a long time to completely dry. That is why I like to rent the steam cleaners. Keep going over the area until you are not extracting anymore water. This will leave the least amount of water in your carpet and it will dry quickly.

i'm no specialist on taking away stains, yet i visit furnish some help in suffering with them. every time a liquid is spilled on carpet, rather of pushing it into the carpet through sopping it up, cover the spill with a generous quantity of table salt. The salt attracts the moisture out and then at the same time as it dries it would want to be vacuumed up. If blood receives on rugs or carpet or maximum any cloth (likely no longer dry sparkling basically) lay ice cubes on the spots. because the ice melts the blood will actually disappear. you would possibly want to need to save including ice because it melts yet I easily have used this quite a few situations and it does artwork. sturdy success!

I would go buy a bissel steam cleaner, but a rental shouldn't take 24 to 48 hours to dry check them out before you stand by that rumor!

I own my own steamer, and it doesn't take long to dry at all-maybe 5 hours, tops. Just don't saturate it. If money isn't an issue, try using a carpet cleaning company. They will tell you when you call just how long to expect a dry carpet afterward.
