Saris are beautiful! I say rock the sari, and rock the totally awesome Indian culture. I was at a the Indian pavilion at a Folk Festival yesterday, and I bought one of their pretty printed shirts. I was the only white woman wearing one there, but I got smiles all around from the Indian ladies.

I'm white and I'd live to own a sari (or a saree - both spelling are right).
I think they are beautiful and very feminine. I don't think it would look odd or out of place.

If you're going to wear a sari atleast fully understand the reason why Hindus/Indians wear it.....I mainly wear a sari, when I'm invited to an Idian celebration, like a maticoor or Diwali. Other than that, i wear casual clothes... You should try going to one of those, cool experience. I've been in it since I was born...

I'm Indian and I don't have a problem with it - in fact, I think it is really nice when I see someone else wearing a sari or lengha, like they accept our culture or just like how pretty it is. Just as long as you wear it properly it is perfectly fine. What I hate is random people wearing tee shirts with Krishna or Shiva on them - like it is pop culture or something.

I fully agree with Radha that Sari is really a nice dress and should be promoted. Infact last week I went to ISKCON for janamashtami and saw few white females wearing sari. They were really looking fabulous. Infact there were white males wearing Kurta Dhoti and they were also looking incredible.

As long as it's done with class it's fine. Anything else would be an insult to that particular culture. I love the tunic and pants outfits.
