Play a game for your mental satisfaction and your own good. Enjoy playing for few times admit that you are not a good player slowly practise and show your magic so that people will be amazed that ohh she plays so well. So go ahead just sign up and start playing. Play and enjoy playing don't worry for what others have to say. They will laugh if you do mistake but they will wow when u learn and be good.

If you can pitch at all, start practicing, using the windmill if you can. Pitchers are always needed. Along with pitching or as an alternative consider being a catcher. Few players want to catch because it is hard work and you have to wear protective equipment so you are likely to have less competition than you might at other positions. Catching can get you onto a team that you otherwise might not be quite good enough to make and it is a fun position to play as you need to stay involved in the game on every pitch. Also as someone else suggested, hit the batting cage and/or get someone to throw you batting practice. Be in shape, hustle every chance you get and be aware about what given situations call for on offense and defense - what base to throw too, when and when not to run, etc. Coaches are almost always impressed by heady players who know and love the game.
Good luck.

I really think you should go for it. You never know what will happen. If you love to play like you say you do, you shouldn't be embarrassed to try out. I'm sure there are other girls who feel the same way as you. I know i felt the same way when i tried out. There where some girls on my school team who weren't really great at playing but they showed determination and they were willing to learn. Just go for it.

You can't live life being scared to try everything! Sometimes just thinking you can't do it can give you the determination to try harder. Some coaches pick players based on potential and attitude just as much as actual talent. Someone who tries her hardest will improve more than someone who is content with her current skill level. Try out. You might be surprised. But remember, you won't stand a chance unless you try 10 times harder than everyone else.

if you really wanna play you wont care what everyone thinks about how skilled at it you are just go out and try your hardest and if you dont make the team just keep practiceing and by next year you will be a pro.

well i never like softball but my sister played and when we moved my parents made me play so i did and i found out i was better than my sister (haha i usually am better than her in everything)

If you enjoy then yes. But if you are afraid of being bad at it, then join a small local team such as a co-ed league. Go to practices and be sure to hit the batting cages too. Keep practicing you will get better.

give it a shot, and don't be embarassed! if you don't try, you'll regret it, if you do, who knows? at the very least you can have some fun!
one of the best bits of advice anyone ever gave me is this: don't do anything you'd be embarassed by, and DON'T BE EMBARASSED BY ANYTHING YOU DO. you can't be embarassed if you don't let yourself be. be proud of who you are and don't let worrying about what other people think run your life!

If you love it, the coaches will notice your passion. Desire is better than skill any day.

Personally, I think you should work on your spelling first.
