if it's a small wedding and people won't overdo with fanciness, then maybe a skirt with a nice blouse should be nice. it's classy and clean, i'm sure it will look great.

wear something basic. Then if the reception stretches into the night you can dress it up with jewelry and the like.
Remember the bride is the star of the day and you don't want to out dress her. You could maybe ask the bride's mother if the wedding being small was going to be casual too or did the bride decide on keeping it more of a formal thing.
If it is casual you then could wear a nice slack suit or a nice pair of slacks with a nice blouse

I am having a small wedding next summer and have told everyone to be comfortable, yet a bit dressy. U dont have to wear a dress, but sum snappy pants and a lite top especially if its outdoors, dont forget a lite sweater if the weather turns. Comfort is my big issue bcuz most weddings r usually formal and stuffy and that is not wat I want for mine. Even a great pair of jeans with the right top will fit in.

A nice cocktail dress, with not much sequins or embroidery, but in a dressy fabric. For example silk or satin in a light color, a nice simple shape, maybe tiny details but that's it. Wear it with espadrilles or wedge pumps. Also camel colored stilettos might work too.
