I was the first girl my boyfriend had sex with, so that question doesn't really apply, but if he had lost his virginity before we started dating and wouldn't tell me about it I would probably be more than a little suspicious.

Some people consider their past relationships 'private' matters. ex: Don't kiss and tell.
Other people love to be open about their past relationships.
On one hand you could assume that if he does not want to talk about his past, there is definitely something 'wrong' with it somehow.
On the other hand, he could only be 'respecting' the ones before you by not talking about them.
It might be that he just isn't the type to talk about such things, some people still think it's wrong to talk about sexual encounters of any kind.
If you want to be with someone who is open about these things and he isn't, you might want to reevaluate your relationship and find out if he is the one you want to spend your life with.
