Yes, and don't we wish to God it was that simple. What people fail to recognize is that even with Israels superior force and a superior motive, if terrorists are willing to put their own women and children in front of them it is hard to "just finish them off".

Terrorists do not play by the rules. They camp out in a land not their own (why should their own families be put in peril?) they stockpile and foment hatred. They do not openly declare war or bring their objections in front of the U.N. or other such large organization. They hold babies while they fire rockets into civilian areas. They kidnap innocents and behead them on television.

Israel could have destroyed Lebanon. No one denies she has the fire-power for that. Israel showed restraint (as always) and for that people say she was beaten. Israel showed mercy, and for that she is mocked.

The real problem is that Israel understands that Lebanon is not the ultimate issue of evil. That it is the terrorist state that have taken residence there (with or without Lebanon's permission is not at issue here). It would be easy to say well they are in Lebanon lets destroy it and them together. The state of Israel does not want to cure the cancer by killing the man. Which would not work permanantly anyhow.

Evil is very clever and like the hydra has many heads, if one is cut off two more rise up in its place.

Israel cannot win:
If she shows restraint, she is weak
If she gives up land for a hope of promised peace, she is attacked from the very land that was given.
If she wins a war that she did not even start, she is a "Big Bully" (which is laugable give that the land is truly small and surrounded by large enemy countries on all sides.)
I suppose that is why it is such an affront to Islam, that itty bitty bit of land surrounded on all sides by the Mighty and Powerfull people of Allah who daily scream for all her peoples blood to be poured out on the land...

And yet there she sits...a Miracle incarnate of the one true God. Her God, the God of Israel, who will never dessert nor forsake her.

Finishing Hezbollah off is not a game of day or two. To root out Hezbollah needed a full time invasion of Lebanon and massive raids.Although Israeli airstrikes have damged their infrastructure but Hezbollah would continue to operate as a unified faction.Probably this would demoralize Hezbollah's motive to gain in future from prisoner swap.

yes i think it was a mistake on the israeli part to stop at their point in the war. They were winning, although many media sources tried to degrade them by blaming the innocent deaths on Israelis. By creating a cease fire, israel let whatever there was of Hezbollah left to regroup and obtain weapons. Knowing that they're terrorists, they will not obey the cease-fire (for the second time now) and attack israel with heavier missles. Only when hezbollah is removed there will be a step towards peace. The next step would be assassinating the president of Iran. That man's knowledge is smaller than my 4-year-old brother's.

If they could've they would've. And if they had, a new "Hezbollah" would rise. The whole point is violence only creates more violence. Israel and it's supporters cannot and do not want to see that.

Hezbollah's rising and formulation is a result of Israeli aggression against Lebanon in 1982.

Hezbollox is not stupid though. They are doing the right thing for the Lebanese people now by quickly funneling Iranian money to the people who need to rebuild.

I guess you werent watching when 1500 Hezbollah stopped 10,000 Israeli with superior weapons. As a result the US gave Israel weapons of mass destruction- cluster bombs, which were dropped and then we did a time out cease fire so we could regroup.
Our news is one sided. You dont even know how and when this started. Supposedly this time it was the kidnap of some Israeli soldiers. You do know they were in Lebanon when they got kidnapped, right?

Yes I do believe that is what it needed. Sometime to have peace you have to fight for it, otherwise the ones giving thier lives are for nothing. Its not over til it over! We will prevail!
