One of the reasons that computer's get slowed down isnt always because of the lack of memory. Adware, spyware and viruses can also slow a computer down big time. I would first do a scan to check for those problems You can do a free online scan at www.trend.com they have the newest updated library of viruses, spyware and adware. Once it has located the problems it will delete them that shold help you free up memory and make you computer run better.

Uninstall programs you are not using. If you are using Norton or MacAfee switch to AVG, Avast, BitDefender, or AntiVir. It will free 80 to 90 Mb of memory.

only way to do this is close programs down. since the more programs open the more RAM is going to use up.
best idea would to buy more RAM since the prices are really low atm.

Computer Slow

Download and then run startup.exe (FREEWARE) at:

http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)

FROM A HARDWARE PERSPECTIVE THE BEST AND MOST COST EFFECTIVE POSSIBLE UPGRADE (IN GENERAL) IS THE ADDITION OF MORE MEMORY (RAM).

ALL ELSE FAILS - RELOAD YOUR O/S (WINDOWS) AND THEN REINSTALL ALL OTHER PROGRAMS YOU NEED/USE!
