You need to change the Vehicle Speed Sensor located on the transmission housing above the pass. side axle. These are a pain to change, and I would suggest you have a professional do it. The VSS are prone to failure because of their close proximity to the exhaust. Also, be sure that who ever does this repair, that they replace the heat shield for it.

their is two devices, that will make it drive erratic have a pro change it is pretty strait forward, simple but you need to be some what of a mechanic, not a do it your self er not saying you cant, but hey if it fails again they must fix it free OK, not too expensive and not to hard to change and could be a bad connection, also you have a transducer that will do the same thing, so you need to a RAD computer diagnoses to properly have it diagnosed, take care, take to a good Ase shop or dealer save a bundle and some head akes, but if you insist to do it yourself get a hand book from bepboys or auto zone and change it your self and if that don't do it your back to square 1 and the diagnoses will be free at a trans shop so your money ahead to have em do see then u wont need to buy a book and trial and error ,aamco free diagnosis check
