I had discharge for at least a year and a half before I got my periods.... no one can tell when your periods are going to come, mostly because we don't know how far along you are in other aspects. For example: If you are flat chested with little or no pubic/underarm hair, and few pimples, it is very, very unlikely that you will get your periods soon. But if you are curvy or beginning to become curvy (hips broaden etc), your chest is growing and you have pubic/underarm hair, then you could get your periods soon. It varies a great deal. If the wetness in your panties makes you feel uncomfortable, wear a panty liner. They are like a very thin pad and they're made to absorb discharge. Don't forget to carry a sanitary pad or two around in your bag wherever you go... because you REALLY don't want to be caught off guard... very embarrassing, trust me! =) Good luck!

I had vaginal discharge for a year before starting my period right before my twelfth birthday. I suggest keeping a pad in your locker or purse and if you feel wet and uncomfortable wear a panty liner. Don't worry you won't start your period while swimming or anything because your period stops while your in the water. And it most likely won't happen all at once. Alot of girls see what they think is a skid mark from not wiping properly and then the next day see a tiny spot of blood and know that they've started their period. It's not like while your giving an oral exam the red see will pour down your legs. So don't worry, and don't want your period because it's not a fun thing.

I started getting discharge in January and i am 13 too, it's annoying not to have your period yet. But there are lots of signs besides discharge before you get your period.
1. breast development.
2.pubic hair and underarm hair.
3.discharge
4. maybe a growth spurt

Wear a panty liner daily until the time comes. Meanwhile, bring a couple of sanitary pads with you, just in case.

I agree with the others...wear a pantiliner and make sure you have sanitary pads with you at all times. There is no way to know for sure when it will start!
