If a girl grows up without a mother would she have issues?

Okay, people say that a boy needs a man/or a father to show him how to be like a man. But what about girls? Do girls need a mother figure? What are the long term effects of a mother-less girl?

How is a girl suppose to know about her period and what her body is going through? Her father alone can't explain that most men have daughters but they still don't know what they are about.

But how is a father suppose to teach his daughter how to nuture, a woman is suppose to nuture .

Thats a good question. I think without a my she may have a sense of lonliness. My cousin grew up with out her mom. She did alot of crying . Its hard because mom have so much love. But if she has a woman in her life that she can confide in be around she will be fine. Also if she has a good father like my husband she will do just fine

well if a girl grows up without a mom ofcourse she would issues but not big ones or maybe that might happen.But well you can say it is necessary for a girl to have a mom as to lead her through out her life well.......maybe till she is married. But sometimes the girls life can get spoiled if she doesnt have a mom or she can go on better without a mom even though she is longing for one....it depends on the girls personality. A girl might feel lonely without a mom and well there are soo many things which are mostly needed to discuss with a mom instead of a dad.

I mostly agree with the others I mean personally coming from a girl that hasn't experienced that but I feel that most girls are grown up very on their owns and not all boys need fathers but need some dominant person to show them right and wrong, so no girls or boys truthfully don't need a same sex parent

Motherless girls seem to have a built in sense of accountability, of confidence. It seems motherless girls are also very independent. If said motherless girl has a really good dad, no, I don't think she'd have issues. There are a LOT of single parents raising their kids alone & not too many of them have serious issues.

i have a mother so im not sure, but my friends mom died when she was really young and shes very independent. i dont think that girls need a mother figure, but its always a good support system.

Having a mother isn't necessary. However, having a female person who they can confide in and look up to, is necessary.
