I am guessing you need this information for the cylinder heads. This is taken from a Haynes repair manual for an '88 Cougar 3.8 v6, '94 may be similar. It may be best to follow the advice of the previous posts or just buy the manual for your year and model.

Torque sequence for cylinder heads is as follows. Sorry for the crude illustration.
Note: V6 engine head bolts should not be reused, NEW BOLTS MUST BE USED when installing the heads. Coat the threads of the 4 short bolts with pipe sealant. Lightly oil the threads of the remaining bolts.

| 5 1 3 7 |
| 6 2 4 8 |

Torque is in ft-lbs
Step 1............37
Step 2............45
Step 3............52
Step 4............59
Step 5............Loosen all bolts 2 or 3 turns, then repeat tightening sequences.

Go to the local Library and get the info from their shop manual collection.

Actually, you can call either Autozone or Kragen's and they can give you this info. If they balk, tell them to look it up, because they do have it.

Go down to your local auto parts shop and ask them...
Don't call them, don't tell them they HAVE to look it up for you... be polite to them, they'll be polite, in return.
