The easiest and simplest answer is to wash your face with warm water several times a day. Do not use soap as it dries out your skin even more and therefore your skin will produce even more oil because it is so dry. I have tried so many cleansers and home remedies and I have finally found the one and only thing that works. It is called Spectro, the great thing about spectro is that the cleansers don't contain foaming ingredients that are harsh on your skin. They also don't contain dyes or other irritating ingredients. My fiance has really oily skin as well and now all he uses is warm water and his face is no where near as oily as it used to be. I am not going to lie it still is kinda oily but not that bad, as well just carry oil blotting sheets with you if there is no sink around then use those. Also i would not be wearing liquid foundation just maybe a good powder. I get acne whenever I wear liquid foundation so I have just learned to accept my face and now it looks better then ever because I wash my face with spectro at night and apply the benzoyl cream on my pimples before I go to bed and in the morning I rinse my face with warm water, and my face has never looked better. Now I don't need to where foundation because I have nothing to cover up. Also you must drink lots of water.

I had VERY oily skin in high school. It's still somewhat oily, just not as bad. One tip is to use a moisturizer. Yes, I know what you're thinking, that moisturizer would just make your skin even more oily. But see, if you use a moisturizer, your skin won't produce as much natural moisturizer (oil) as if you didn't use any moisturizer. Just don't use a heavy, creamy moisturizer for your skin type. Use something more medium, not "lightweight." Also, something I find helpful is an oil mattifier (I use one by Mary Kay). If you have acne, another helpful products is Mary Kay's Acne Treatment Gel. In high school, I tried all kinds of over-the-counter acne products and nothing that I bought in the stores helped my skin until I tried this acne gel. Here is a link where you can find both of these products. There is a link at the top of the page you can click to find a representative in your area who you could contact and buy these items from if you wish.

Use a soap (like Dove) or cleanser for oily skin, twice a day, a facial scrub twice a week, face mask once a week. It is alot to do, but well worth it after anywhere from few days to couple weeks, depending upon your skin. I use Dove in the mornings, at night apricot scrub, and clay mask once a week. Find a moisturizer for oily skin, it will help. You do not want to dry out your skin or strip all the oils away, that could cause your face to break out even more. I am 36 and still have oily skin, have since was 13 years old. BareMinerals is what I started using in July of this year, at first did have a small break out, but now my skin does look alot better. For some people they will have oily skin for the rest of thier lives, others just in their teens. Also look for facial cleansers with salyic acid that helps the breakouts. Neutrogena has a great skincare line for oily skin. Good Luck, hope you find something that works for you.

Swab the decks, matey. Skin-care companies have come up with nifty foil-wrapped packets of alcohol-saturated wipes for oily skin. They're similar to the larger wipes that women with children often carry for tidying up kids away from home. The smaller facial wipes are easy to tuck into your handbag or briefcase. Then, when you notice that your nose is shiny with oil, you can peel a packet apart in a bathroom and wipe the oil from your face. The alcohol cuts through the oil and dries up your skin. They smell nice and refreshing and they're very convenient. Look for Tyrosum wipes, among other brands, in major drugstores, or ask your pharmacist to order them.

Wash with care. If you have oily skin, you may be tempted to scrub that oil away every chance you get. But washing your face too much--more than three times a day--may stimulate your skin to produce more oil. Every skin pore is a little oil factory, and your skin knows how much is produced--as if it had a little dipstick. So if you constantly remove that oil, your skin says, 'Oops! Not enough oil. Better make some more.'

Hard scrubbing and rubbing stirs up the oil glands, too, so be gentle. And if you have oily skin, avoid superfatted soaps (intended to moisturize as they clean) like Dove and Tone--your skin doesn't need any added oil. Antibacterial soaps (like Dial and antibacterial Lever 2000) are helpful. That's because oily skin has a tendency to clog the pores and foster bacterial growth.

Rely on witch hazel. Among dermatologists witch hazel is a popular astringent. Don't let the name fool you. Witch hazel is mild and doesn't have a lot of added ingredients. It's always best to keep skin-care products as simple as possible--use the purest products. And be wary of natural products containing essential oils (extracts of herbs used in aromatherapy and massage)--some people are allergic to them.

Go powder your nose. Talcum powder, whether it's formulated for the body or if it's loose face powder, is oil-free. What's more, talc blots the oil on your skin. People with oily skin need a little powder after they bathe and when they apply makeup.

Apply loose face powder after applying foundation. Pressed powder is not recommended, because it contains some oil and may make acne worse in susceptible women.

Wel oils keep your skin young looking, it lubricates it and in the end, you wont be as wrinkly as others that have less oily skin. I guess you can apply a moisturizer for sometime to balance out the actions of your skin. Also a mask here and there wont hurt. My sugestion is that you are better off leaving your skin alone without having to tamper with its natural actions because in doing so you might end up doing more harm than good i.e. breaking out.

There's oil controlling foundation out there. I also have oily skin but I don't like foundation... I use powder. There are tons of powders out there that don't clog pores and help control the oil.

apply moisturisor under your foundation therefore when you sweat, the moisturisor will go into your skin, not the foundation also use a toner only 2wice a day cleanse and moiisturise your skin 2wice a day and it will gradully make your pores smaller, toner is an astringent it shrinks the pores, but to much can and willl damage your skin

Drink lots of water, try not to put too much grease or oil in your hair if youre Afro-Amer/Black especially around hair line, tie up your hair at night so the oil from your hair doesnt get on your clean pillow and get on your face. Also try a good facial mask and scrub to dry up the pimples.
