What for? Can't you see your own dreams? :)
I really prefer not to do it, don't forget that you have a couple of 'intruders', your eyes will rest better if you free them at leat for a while.

I started wearing contacts several years ago and they had these so called extended wear contacts but I never thought it was safe to wear them at night and I heard some bad stories about people leaving them for days at a time. With the new lenes I'm told this is not a problem but then I was told the same years ago. My advice is don't get lazy...get into the habit of removing them every night...and always wash your hands before you remove or insert them to prevent eye infections.

Warning!! Unless your contacts are "Day & Night" you should NOT sleep in them. You might have gotten away with it for a night, but you might be in for eye infections and what's even worse, a corneal ulcer and that's dangerous. This will keep you off them for quite sometime and using medications every hr...going to your optometrist daily until the ulcer(s) are gone. So, I woul advice you, to use your contacts wisely and keep your eyes and sight healthy.

Careful! If you don't know whether you sleep with eyes half-open and dry the whole night, you are running the risk of being unable to remove the contacts after... and with dire consequences.

I'm a really bad girl and I do it alot...you are not supposed to do it because it can cause loss of oxygen to the eyes and damage the corneas...
In my case I started having blood vessels appear in the whites of my eyes due to the extended wear of my contacts and I had to remove them for a long period of time to let my eyes breathe...I was having some eye discomfort and blurriness too...but keep in mind I was wearing them for very long periods at a time....one night won't hurt you....
They do make contacts now that allow you to keep them in for longer periods of time. You can discuss those options with your optometrist.

You really shouldn't! I have heard of them drying up on the eye and having to be scapped off by an eye Dr. That to me doesn't sound like it's worth the pain. It only takes seconds to get them out. Do that 1st or don't wear contacts.

From my experience, you're really encouraged not to do that, though I've done it myself quite a few times. Sometimes, I'm just too sleepy or tired, and sometimes I just forget to take them off!
But when you wake up, if at all possible, take them off and give your eyes a rest. That's really one of the main reasons you shouldnt have them on for so long. Your eyes need to "breathe". And if you have a day off where you're just in your house, just use your glasses to make up for all that time that your eyes were covered.

It's possible for certain types of contacts. But don't do it and don't listen to anyone on this page. unless you look at the instructions on the packaging.
