love grows from friendship so friendship is the strongest, can not love someone (truly) until a friendship has been established.

love is a stronger form of friendship. its like friendship compacted. all the energy you would use being friends with a person for years is used up in a lot shorter span of time. so i think love is stronger but friendship lasts longer.

i think that its both because if you love some one they , outside of family, should have been a friend first. the same is true if you have a friend, a true friend, you should love them . but if i had to say 1is stronger and last longer i would say love when its real because true love looks to give and is honest so it would not break apart like so many friendships over time due to selfish motives and it last because its etched deeper in the mind and heart.

I don't know if it has something to do with your question,but for me definitely love is stronger than friendship.
I can't choose which one lasts longer...Both can last only a few months,both can last for a lifetime.
