We've all heard the saying. I've had some lunches that didn't cost me any money, but they were all in consideration for something: an event at work, school, meeting with friends (though I would get the next one). Any totally free lunches out there? Just curious.

Actually, while a lunch may be free to you, it is not totally free because somebody had to pay for it. Even free samples were paid for by the store; they do it in the hopes of selling more food. That's an economics class answer to the TINSTAAFL question. But a lunch can certainly be free to you. My husband and I like to go and eat chicken strips at the local university's housing fair. They also give away free stuff!

Yes, at homeless shelters and food banks across the country. Not the best of situations, but the lunches are free. Sad though that our country has so many homeless. An issue this country needs to start addressing here at home.

Yes. There are free lunches for kids in schools. They have free lunch because there is a certain amount of money that their parents have to make a year. So if they don't quilfy, then the girls get free lunch.

There is no free lunch. Even the homeless shelters want you to listen to their little schpiels. The samples at the supermarket are just given in an effort to make you purchase the product. Nothing is free.

Nope. No matter what someone has to pay for that delicious roast beef, and to often that person ends up being the poor Mexican family living in a two person tent in the greenbelt behind the rich lawyers house working way below minimum wage....just a thought.

The quote came from Robert Heinlein. There are no free lunches, there is always a catch.

It's the second law of thermodynamics. You don't want to be breaking laws.
I was given lunch for free, once, but I paid for it by indigestion.

Swing by a church during lunchtime. They give out free lunches.
