I think it goes the other way. Things don't happen for a reason, we simply find reason in everything that happens. We justify things that have happened because it makes us feel like certain things in life are beyond our control, which is true, but we can't simply say things happen for a reason. If I win the lottery did it happen for a reason? Or am I supposed to find reason within the situation I now find myself? I think that whatever happens in your life you need to figure out where it fits with everything else that has happened, but I don't think things are predetermined. If I never look for reason, then things that happen to me are unreasonable. A person must find their own reasons, it's not as simple as having to accept things as they come and say "oh well, it happened for a reason" The responsibility falls on you to FIND that reason.

If there's a divine, predetermined purpose, then there is nothing you can do in life that will change what will happen. You will be president, or martyr, homeless person, or Alaskan fisherman.. and nothing you can do will change whether you end up at the gates of Valhalla or in the underworld eating dust.
Intentionality is completely wasted there. Once you are prescribed such a purpose you are a complete tool. The life of a hammer is totally meaningless.
Your claims are unjustified by science. There's too much indeterminism, and a whole field of study called quantum mechanics which deals with it.
Since there is chaos, we can actually live to make our own meaning, find our own purpose and thrive without fear of hell or infinite reward. The horizon for human activity, involvement, and meaning is in reality. If you extrapolate from reality and get lost in outerspace, then of course, you will only call the real meaningless... but anything makes sense to a madman.

well i partly agree with you because there is no reason or purpose for the sins which we commit, they have no reason at all(i guess sin is also an action).and ya i agree withyou if that action is about good deeds, we do those without expecting anything in return.so we can think that there is purpose to such things.

if there is a god then according to the bible then yes. but in my idea of the world we are no different than bacteria in our purpose on earth or life. it doesn't make it meaningless just not as fruit full as you may think. I'm not saying there isn't a god but his idea for us isn't to have purpose, just live and die.

every single action taken effects everything there after. the universe is so very entwined and complex because everything effects everything else. there isn't reason for everything we do in the sense that god made us do this so that would happen but there is reason in the sense that if you do this, this will happen.
