Let r be the density and h be the height of the column of water. then pressure p = r * g * h = 1000 kg/m^3 * 10 m/s^2 * 0.8 m = 8000 kg/(m s^2). Next, the unit kg/(m s^2) = (kg * m /s^2) /m^2 = Newton/m^2 = pascal. Therefore, p = 8000 kg/(m s^2) = 8000 pascal.
