it is very simple. person are always looking for the easy way to do thing and short hand on the compture is one of those ways. It is just human nature.

I agree. It certainly gives the impression of one being too lazy to write correctly. It also, in my opinion, signifies and points to a society that does not know how to spell, speak or write correctly. The English Language is being slaughtered on-line. Sad, very sad.

I have to agree that it makes the people using slang or acronyms appear uneducated.

The whole world is caught up in abbreviating words and slogans, just look at KFC (kentucky fried chicken) it's all in the perception of the beholder. there's nothing wrong with using short words and abbreviations. i rest my case.

Well to be fair when I am on websites like this one I do try my very best to type normal, but when I am on MSN/YIM/AIM/ICQ/IRC etc I do type shorthand as it's generally faster and people sometimes understand easier suprisingly.

I think it comes from chat room usage where they abbreviate just about everything.

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but don't type in all capitals that will make people hate you. So I am told....
