I'm 53 and my husband is 61. We discovered Lilly Allen's CD a few weeks ago and haven't stopped playing it since. I bought a copy and took it to my daughter in Germany, where she now plays it constantly.

I'm not asking if you like it or not, we're all entitled to our own tastes but do you think she would be upset if she knew she had such elderly fans?

My husband has this theory that young people should like music that their parents will hate. I don't agree. I hated my parent's choice but my kids and I love the same things.

Your question is really about current music and people of a certain age. I think growing up in the 60's taught us to appreciate good music of any type. There will always be good new music, and bad new music. The people I feel sorry for are those who think that any music produced after the 60's is rubbish - they miss so much. Good on yer for having an open mind.

Your money goes in her pocketses, I doubt it. Well provided you acquired her album by legal means. (Not suggesting you didn't).
Thats what makes the industry go round.

Besides, she is probably happy that she connected with you and your family on such a level.
