Thus the whole philosophy of taking on his childhood fear as his persona, the Bat. Of course, along the way, he studied many things, but his obvious hard-core, concentration was in the Ninjitsu/Ninjutsu way of the dark warrior. Thus the Dark Knight label, and his bat disguise to conceal identity.
