I was a truck driver for 11 years, and i believe they can terminate if your vision is bad enough.I look at it like this,if my vision was bad,and i knew it,i'd pull myself off the road long before a vision doctor told me to do so.I dont want to kill others or myself just because i'm to proudful to admit it's time to hang up the keys, and look for another job in another field.

yes they can terminate ur cdls..under the federal motor carrier safety regulations n the department of transportation require drivers to have medical n eye exams every 3 years...if u dont pass any of the medical or eye exam they do not waiver they take ur cdls n ur medical card...if ur having trouble with ur eyes u need to go see a eye doctor before u get back in that truck.if u have an accident n kill someone n dot find out about ur eye condition they will bring murder charges against u cause ur suppose to be responsible n professsional n seek attention before something like this happens.u shouldnt be driving if u had to ask such a question like this....

Termination for bad vision seems an extreme step.

An alternate job should be considered.
