The former Home Secretary of Britain, David Blunkett, is blind.
On his first day at work he had a meeting with Tony Blair. His staff printed out his notes on a new Braille computer printer bought for his use.
It was all gibberish: the printer was made in Sweden and they'd sent the Swedish version, which is a different Braille.
Blunkett muddled through from memory.
As for McDo: they just want to show that they are accommodating the disabled. Whether anyone ever uses it is beside the point.

I worked at McD's for 5 years during HS/College never once did anyone ask for a braille menu- they also have picture menus but most deaf or mute ppl would have a pad of paper and write stuff down. I think it has to do with laws they they have to accommodate those with disabilities.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for that one. I've asked myself that for years. If you've noticed, there's also braille on the drive-thru ATM's also.
The best I could come up with is maybe for a passenger?

Like many others, I've never seen Braile at McDonalds. However, when braile is present in a place I would least expect it, I have to imagine that the blind person maybe be sitting in the back seat and they might want to press things themselves instead of telling the driver their pin number, for instance! That's the only thing I can think of!

So they know how much to take out of the drive up atm, also with braille, to pay for their number four combo.

So..if you have a blind person with you,you can hand her a Braille menu. You read from a menu and it is the same for a blind person.

never seen a braille menu at mc donalds but i have seen the braille numbers at the atm machine at the bank. why would a blind passenger have to lean way over to put in his/her pin number if the driver could do it for them unless they just don't trust the driver. it's one of those hhmmm..... questions

What McDonald's are you going to? All of their menus are behind those plastic cases and they are too far to reach out and touch because they aren't that close to the curb.

Hell, I haven't found MacDonald's yet.
I've never been able to find one.
And where is the drive in?
What's braille?
Where is it?
What's it for?
My tongue keeps getting caught in my eye tooth and I can't see.
