OK, this is straightforward, density is mass over volume, so volume is mass over density. You have to make sure the units are the same so convert 1.7 kg to 1700 grams. so the volume is 1700 gm over 0.8 gm/cm3 or 17000/8 or roughly 2125 cm3

Density is expressed as mass over volume, or D =M / V. We already know D and M, so we're solving for V.
The equation sets up as this:
0.8 = 1.7 / V
To solve, put 0.8 over 1 and 1.7 over V (this looks better on paper, but I'll do the best I can typing it out):
0.8 1.7
---- = ------
1 V
Your goal is to isolate your variable. By cross-mulitiplying your numbers, you get this:
0.8 * V = 1.7
(because any number times 1 is your original number)
To isolate V, divide both sides of the equation by 1.7.
Any number divided by itself equals 1, so you end up with this:
V = 1.7 / 8
The answer is, 2.125

density is = mass / volume
volume is thus mass/ density
then the next step is converting 1.7 kg to grams, shoudl be pretty simple from there..

the formula which relates mass,density,volume is
density=mass/volume.
mass is in S.I system there is no need to convert it,but it is essential to convert density into S.I,i.e multiply 0.8 by 1000 and then substitute it according to the formula given above to get volume this on simplification you will get 2125m^3
